When we drove up, I was initially a little weary about the close proximity of the three cottages, but my concerns were unfounded. All guests were extremely considerate, had their own agenda and frankly, were really friendly and made the stay that much more enjoyable. As we were putting away our groceries we were greeted with a gift bag filled with popcorn, chocolates and other goodies. A sweet touch.
We stayed at the "contemporary cottage" and had the stairs down to the beach at our doorstep. The cottage was impeccably maintained and Jacques was available for any questions and had great recommendations. We spent hours with our little boys combing the beach at low tide looking for crabs and other ocean life. We were even able to walk across to the "island" at low tide. But be careful of nesting birds, we weren't welcome there for very long (hahah).
Weymouth is located a 5 minute drive away with access to groceries, pharmacy, NSLC and banks. We loved exploring the Acadian shore and were thrilled to attend the Beaux Vendredi dinner in Belliveaux Cove on a Friday night. Each recommendation that Jacques made exceeded our expectations. We were able to explore numerous beaches, go whale watching, and enjoyed a 2-hour morning canoe ride down the Sissiboo River with a local outfitter. AND THE SUNSETS!!! Absolutely stunning and calming to unwind to the pace of the slowly setting sun. We made memories here that will last a lifetime. Thank you Jacques for opening up your space to travellers and nature lovers alike. You won't regret your stay at Baie Ste-Marie Oceanfront Cottages.
